What Sets MJ Kloss Apart
Initial Preparation
Before starting, we carry out a thorough assessment of every job and look for what caused any damage, so that the repair will last.
Craftsmanship
Our tradespeople choose bricks, mortar and render to suit your building, with every joint finished neatly.
Finishing
Our plasterers and decorators can finish the work indoors and outdoors, so you won't have to wait for another trade.
Ways We Can Help
Dividing Walls and Modifications
To alter how a room is used, we erect stud partition walls, close up unwanted doorways and create openings in non-structural walls.
Pointing Renewal
Crumbling mortar is raked out by our team and the brickwork repointed, with the colour and joint style matched so the wall looks as good as it performs.
Brickwork and render fixes
At MJ Kloss we swap out bricks that are cracked or spalled and fix render that has been damaged, using materials that match the rest of your building.
More Ways We Can Help
Walls, paths and steps in gardens
Whether reconstructing a tilting garden wall or fixing damaged steps and concrete paths, we smarten up the outside of your property.
Putting things right
Our decorators and plasterers make good the walls, reveals and surfaces after alterations, new windows or work carried out by other trades, ensuring everything looks complete.

The Questions We Hear Most Often
What qualifies as minor building work?
We mean any modest building task that can be done without a main contractor, for example putting up a partition wall, filling in a doorway, repointing, fixing brickwork or render, or rebuilding a low wall in the garden. If you're unsure whether your project qualifies, simply get in touch.
Could my job be too small?
Not often. We gladly take on smaller building jobs and can frequently do several during one visit, or tackle them while decorating, to make your time and budget go further.
Will the repairs blend with the existing brickwork?
We align the bricks, mortar shade and joint profile as accurately as we can—sourcing reclaimed or identical bricks whenever possible—so that the repaired sections fit seamlessly alongside the original wall.
Will planning permission or building regulations approval be needed?
Neither is needed for most minor building works. Approval may be required for work on a listed building, within a conservation area or affecting fire escape routes, so ask your local council if you're unsure. Our estimator can explain what to watch for.
