Project Overview

We were asked to attend Sevente, a bar in Hackney, after newly installed ceiling plasterboards had been fitted poorly and finished to a low standard.

The brief was to correct the ceiling, achieve a flat and consistent surface, and complete the final decoration properly.

The Brief

The existing ceiling installation presented several issues:

• Plasterboards not set straight
• Uneven lines and visible imperfections
• A finish that was not suitable for final decoration

As the venue had recently invested in the ceiling works, the priority was to rectify the problem properly rather than apply superficial fixes.

Our Process

We approached this as a corrective project rather than a simple repaint.

Works included:

• Adjusting and setting the plasterboards correctly
• Ensuring alignment across the ceiling area
• Full skim coat to create a uniform surface
• Sanding and preparation prior to painting
• Final ceiling paint application for a clean, even finish

Care was taken around lighting tracks and surrounding fixtures to maintain sharp edges and avoid disruption to the existing fit-out.
