    What Sets MJ Kloss Apart

    Preparatory Work

Our joiners take measurements of your room in person to accommodate the irregular walls, floors and ceilings common in most London homes.

    Craftsmanship

Every unit is made from good-quality boards, with solid carcasses and proper runners and hinges, and is then scribed so it fits your room precisely.

    Finishing

Our in-house decorators fill, prime and paint every unit in whichever colour you choose, so there is no need to wait for a separate trade.

    How We Can Help You

    Fitted wardrobes

Fitted across the entire wall and up to the ceiling, our wardrobes are constructed by our joiners with rails, shelving and drawers configured to match your precise storage requirements.

    Units for alcoves

The alcoves either side of a chimney breast can become attractive shelving and cupboards, a traditional improvement for Victorian and Edwardian houses in London.

    Media and television units

MJ Kloss constructs TV and media units that conceal cables, accommodate your equipment and provide the living room with a neat, finished appearance.

    Storage for tricky spaces

Our team makes storage and seating beneath stairs, under sloping loft ceilings and around bay windows, making use of space that would otherwise be wasted.

Joinery for commercial premises and schools

We make reception desks, display shelving, storage and cloakroom furniture designed to withstand daily use in offices, shops and schools.

    Planning Your Joinery

We will guide you through each detail. The key choices are:

    • Door design – choose shaker, flat or traditional panelled doors that suit your home
    • Inside arrangement – position hanging rails, shelves, drawers and shoe storage to fit how you’ll use them
    • Handle choice – go for knobs, bar handles or push-to-open to create a sleek look without handles
    • Final finish – have our own decorators paint it in any colour, or choose natural oak finished with oil or lacquer

    Common Questions

Alongside making the joinery, do you also design it?

Yes. Before starting work, we'll discuss how you'd like to use the space, suggest layouts, door styles and internal fittings, and settle every detail with you. We can also provide design drawings, so you can see exactly what will be made before work begins.

Are you able to fit around radiators, angled ceilings or power sockets?

Yes. Our joiners often plan fittings to accommodate chimney breasts, sloped attic ceilings, radiators and skirting boards. Should a socket or switch require relocation for the updated arrangement, an electrician must handle it prior to our installation.

Do I get to pick the colour?

Certainly. Our in-house decorators are able to apply paint to your joinery in whatever shade you prefer, encompassing heritage and designer paint collections, or alternatively we can finish the natural wood with oil or lacquer.

Can new joinery match your existing furniture or period features?

In the majority of cases, yes. We can replicate the styling of current cupboards, skirting and mouldings so that new joinery integrates naturally with the rest of the room.

How long does joinery work take?

How long it takes depends on how many pieces there are and their size. When the design has been agreed, your quotation will clearly state how long building and fitting will take.
