The football team at Grange Primary School on Webb Street, SE1, are now ready for their upcoming matches thanks to a new set of kits provided through our recent sponsorship.
Until now, the team didn’t have a kit of their own, which made it difficult for them to take part in fixtures and competitions. The impact has already been clear. As their teacher explained, the children wear the kit “with real pride”, and it has helped to build both confidence and a strong sense of team spirit.
We visited the school to watch the team in their new colours and speak with staff about what it meant for the children. Having the same kit for both the boys’ and girls’ teams has been especially meaningful, reinforcing “a shared sense of belonging across our school.”
For many pupils, school sport is more than just a game. It’s a chance to build friendships, gain confidence and experience being part of something they can work towards together. Being able to take part in matches is a big part of that.
The kits will be used for seasons to come, meaning future teams will also benefit and continue to represent their school with pride.
Staff also described the visit as “a really valuable experience for the children and greatly appreciated by staff”, and expressed their thanks for the support.
